Latest Images
Photographs taken since 2008 after changing over to digital capture for all my photography. This gallery features some of my favourite locations including, Cradle Mountain, Freycinet National Park, Mount Wellington, Bay of Fires, Great Western Tiers, Mount Field and Douglas Apsley National Parks.
I became serious about digital capture after Canon introduced the full frame 5D. I love the freedom and ease of using digital, particularly after using and carrying large format cameras for many years. I now have greater control over the colours and contrast in my images and am no longer having to deal with the exaggerated contrast inherent in modern slide films.

Black and White
My very first images where taken on 35mm and developed at home in my tiny darkroom located in the corner of my parent’s garage. I have always liked black & white but was not able to get back into it until digital gave me the opportunity to once again see and shoot the occasional B&W image.

Large Format Film
Photographed between 1984-2008. I started landscape photography in earnest using a Pentax 6x7cm camera before moving into 4x5” large format in 1986. During this time I solo walked into many Tasmanian wilderness locations including:
The Western Arthur Range, Walls of Jerusalem, Reynolds Falls, Southern Ranges, Du Cane Range, Cradle Mountain - Lake St Clair National Park, Lake Rhona, Federation Peak, South Coast Track, Ketchem Bay, Cape Hauy, Hartz Mountains, Mt Anne, Black Bluff, Cape Raoul, Frenchmans Cap, Ben Lomond, The Great Western Tiers, Freycinet Peninsula, Mt Olympus, Mt Murchison, Tyndall Range, Mt Bobs, Mt Gell, Traveller Range, Cathedral Mountain, Eldon Bluff, Mt Field National Park, Douglas Apsley National Park and Bishop & Clerk on Maria Island.
Most of my best images where made with my 4x5 Linhof Technica. This clever folding camera was made in 1957 by some very perfection orientated Germans who made cameras that would last a lifetime. I still own this camera today.
